"Our annual benefit honors local citizens who have committed to improving the lives of members of our communities in the region we serve in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. It's our way of thanking them and awarding them with some well-deserved recognition from over 300 community leaders who will be joining us that evening," says David Fields, the Executive Director of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles.
Sr. Alice Marie's devotion to helping low income elderly with access to high quality food and nutrition has been recognized before, including a "Woman of the Year" honor bestowed by the State of California and recognition by the US House of Representative's Select Committee on Aging. "As nice as those honors where, it's really a great honor for me and my team at Meals on Wheels to be honored by our good friends at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul," says Sr. Alice Marie.
