Solar Components Places Initial Manufacturing Order for Its Joos Orange Portable Solar Chargers, Which Will Now Begin Shipping in the Third Quarter of 2010
Select New York City journalists will be the first to see Joos Orange demonstrations at the PEPCOM Digital Experience media reception, Wed., June 23 from 6-9 p.m. at the Manhattan Pavilion in Chelsea
CAMPBELL, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Solar Components, LLC today announced that it has placed its initial manufacturing order for its Joos Orange(TM) portable solar chargers with Singapore-based Eastern Asia Technology Limited, one of the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers in the world for consumer electronics devices.
Solar Components now plans to begin shipping its much-anticipated Joos Orange portable solar chargers during the third quarter of 2010.
"We recognize that we turned the personal solar charging market on its head with our first Joos Orange announcement back in March," said Jamie Bullen, CEO and co-founder of Solar Components. "We know there's nothing like the Joos Orange on the market today: a portable solar charger priced at under $100 that works on sunny days and cloudy days, in partial sunlight, in the rain, under water and even after being shot five times by a .22 caliber rifle.
"I also suspect there are a number of our competitors that are praying that we won't ever ship. But the Joos Orange is real, and as several journalists can now attest (such as Bryan Gardiner at Wired.com), the Joos Orange works just like we said it does."
Joos Orange to be featured at PEPCOM's New York City media reception next Wednesday
The first quasi-public showing of the Joos Orange portable solar charger will come on Wednesday, June 23, at the PEPCOM Digital Experience media reception in New York City. Held from 6-9 p.m. (EDT) at the Metropolitan Pavilion in the Chelsea District of Manhattan (125 West 18th Street), PEPCOM's Digital Experience is an invitation-only media reception.
Solar Components will have several final pre-production Joos Orange portable solar chargers at the PEPCOM event for demonstration purposes. Journalists interested in seeing the Joos Orange at the PEPCOM media reception can request an invitation at http://www.pepcom.com/press/press.html.
Retailers and distributors interested in selling and/or distributing the Joos Orange should contact David Matusich of Solar Components at [email protected].
