SolarMax Technology Contributes to Picture-Perfect Evening for LA-Area Hospitals

RIVERSIDE, Calif., July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pictures may be worth a thousand words - or, in the case of one Los Angeles-area hospital foundation, you could also add thousands of dollars.  That's what the first-ever Beautiful Moments™ World Photography and Essay Contest, co-sponsored by SolarMax Technology, helped raise for the Alhambra Hospital Medical Center (AHMC) Health Foundation.

Participants from 44 eligible countries and regions around the globe submitted their work, making the colorful competition one of the largest in the healthcare fundraising field. Nine well-respected judges from various artistic disciplines reviewed the submissions and winners were acknowledged in front of nearly 1,000 attendees at the June event hosted inside the grand ballroom of the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

The photo contest highlighted the 6^th annual gala benefiting the AHMC Foundation, whose mission focuses on addressing and remedying disparities in healthcare among communities.  SolarMax helped provide underwriting support, along with co-sponsors Primetime TV and the Arcadia Medical and Cosmetic Center.

Contestants submitted a photo essay of a particularly compelling or beautiful moment they individually shot and edited, with $10,000 in prize money up for grabs. Acceptable themes ranged from touching family moments to beautiful nature shots. 

Topping the list of 2018 winners were:

"The purpose of Beautiful Moments is to share cultures across the globe, expose the harmony between humans and wildlife, and spotlight the kindness, beauty, and compassion in our lives," said Juliette Zhuo, President of LA Primetime TV and event. "It serves as a creative platform for amateur and professional photographers worldwide to showcase their talents and express themselves - not only through images, but their written interpretations of the moments they've captured."
