PARSIPPANY, N.J., Sept. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Solix, Inc., the leader in Qualification Process Outsourcing (QPO) for government and commercial customers, today announced two states have awarded renewals to continue administering their Universal Service Funds (USFs), which ensure that all residents have access to affordable basic phone service.

Both contracts are for five years and were won through RFP processes during which Solix's previous strong performance and quality service, along with its QPO expertise in managing USFs, helped it to stand out among the competition. Among the duties Solix will perform:

  • Calculating the required annual assessment rate for program funding
  • Collecting funds from required contributors
  • Processing payments
  • Tracking and reporting on fund balances
  • Generating managerial and oversight reports

The programs will also be supported by Solix's web-based platform. Specifically designed for USF customers, the platform will streamline reporting, enable electronic data submission, and provide 24/7 access to program data and reports.  New service providers participating in the programs can be quickly integrated into the system and Solix will inform the USFs about any regulatory changes and incorporate them into the process.

Solix QPO includes a comprehensive suite of services that offer the expertise and end-to-end technology and process management required to determine an applicant's eligibility for participation in a program. The suite is comprised of Complex Program Administration (including business processes, program management and business intelligence reporting), Eligibility Determination Outsourcing (including application processing and data management), and Customer Communication Management (including outreach, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and inbound/outbound interactions).

Solix has a distinguished record of effectively serving public benefit programs of national and state agencies and increasing their efficiency and performance while reducing waste, fraud and abuse. Government customers have selected Solix as a critical partner for public-private initiatives aimed to maximize results for programs that range from providing discounted utilities for low-income residents to supporting technology infrastructure for schools and libraries and providing affordable access to broadband as well as computers to disadvantaged students.

Solix's success in serving these private-public partnerships has attracted customers in the commercial industry as well.  Businesses, including telecommunications, healthcare and insurance companies, have also chosen Solix to help manage programs with intricate rules-based criteria that are often subject to extensive regulatory guidelines, eligibility requirements and compliance reviews.
