Sotera® Wireless Highlights Alarm Management Presentation At AAMI Foundation Event
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sotera® Wireless today highlighted a presentation to be featured at the upcoming AAMI Foundation Boston Regional Event on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Clinicians from Wake Forest Baptist Health in North Carolina will describe steps the institution has taken to improve patient safety and positively impact alarm management.
Presenters for the session are Christina Taylor, RN, MSN, CCRN, SCRN, a nurse manager for Wake Forest Baptist Health Neurocritical Care Unit and Neurosurgery Unit and Kristina Foard RN, MSNEd, SCRN, a nurse practice specialist for the trauma and burn service lines. In their discussion the nurses will address current issues relevant to alarm and alert management and the implications for surveillance monitoring, an emerging strategy that hospitals are using to improve patient safety.
"Wake Forest is a leader in the use of monitoring technology for patients outside of the intensive care unit, who are often perceived to be free of any specific risk," said Rosemary Kennedy, a recognized innovator in nursing informatics and Sotera's chief nursing officer.
