South Walton's Glittering Turquoise Gulf Waters Wash into the Fashion World with Inaugural Fashion Week

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla., June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An area typically known for groundbreaking architectural inspiration and the birth of New Urbanism with its towns Seaside and Alys Beach, South Walton will now dip into the fashion world with South Walton Fashion Week on October 11-13 in Grand Boulevard's Town Center at Sandestin in South Walton, Florida.

South Walton's beaches typically conjure images of sunglasses, swimsuits and straw hats yet beckon such visiting fashionistas as Katie Holmes, India Hicks, Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Simpson. Now this scenic area will strive for a place on the fashion map with its inaugural fashion week full of dynamic events.

South Walton Fashion Week will call aspiring designers and models for a fashion extravaganza to benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County while also paying homage to their local designers, as well as spotlighting upscale boutiques during the event series.

Designers may apply for the "Emerging Designers Show" beginning June 28, 2013 through August 31, 2013.  Applications must be submitted at swfw.org.  Celebrity judges include Cassie McConnell Kelley, author of style blog Womanista.com and wife of Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley.
