Southern Oncology Association of Practices announces PathGroup as preferred laboratory solution
O'FALLON, Ill. and NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southern Oncology Association of Practices (SOAP) has reached an agreement with PathGroup Laboratories to provide access to cutting edge clinical and molecular tools to their 70+ member practices.
The agreement, which begins April 1, covers all services provided by community based oncology practices including clinical, anatomic and molecular testing with national pricing for SOAP members.
Based in Nashville, TN, PathGroup is one of the largest physician-owned pathology groups in the United States with over 80 pathologists and a leader in the field of anatomic, clinical and molecular pathology.
SOAP Vice-President Reis J. Driver said his experience with PathGroup "has been extremely positive within our practice. When we were approached by PathGroup in 2013 with laboratory solutions specific to our practice here in Kentucky, we checked all the references and talked to existing clients of PathGroup before moving forward. Everything we were told was accurate and the results have been fantastic. The idea of recreating this success for our member practices was really the driving force behind this agreement."
Dr. Pranil Chandra, AVP, Medical Director Molecular Pathology and Genomic Medicine Services at PathGroup, stated "The agreement we have reached with SOAP will allow PathGroup to continue providing cutting-edge molecular diagnostics, as well as gold-standard laboratory services, to more patients in our geographic area. In looking at the mission of SOAP, to help practices remain independent and competitive in the current oncology landscape, we knew PathGroup could be a great fit for their members."
Further details will be presented to member practices at SOAP's national meeting April 22-23, 2016 in Memphis, TN and through field based activity of PathGroup's oncology sales force.
