Spartan Takes Over Chicago with 2010 Emissions Gladiator® Classic Featuring Cummins ISX 600HP Diesel Engine

CHARLOTTE, Mich., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spartan Motors Chassis, Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPAR), will showcase its cutting-edge line of 2010 emergency-response cabs and chassis as the Fire-Rescue International (FRI) Conference and Exhibition gets underway in Chicago.

Headlining in the Spartan exhibit, booth #3421, will be the spacious Gladiator® Classic integrated with industry leading engine performance—a 600 horsepower 2010 Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") certified Cummins ISX diesel engine. The Charlotte, Mich.-based manufacturer received ISX installation approval from Cummins earlier this week.

The Gladiator will be accompanied in the Spartan exhibit by the Metro Star® and Furion® models. The modernized line-up features redesigned cooling systems and multiple exhaust configurations, as well as customer-requested innovations such as horizontal wipers and 24" exterior grab handles.
