Spectrum Orthotics And Prosthetics Hires New Practitioner

CHICO, Calif., Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective Monday September 2nd 2013 Sanjay Gupta became the new office manager and practitioner for Spectrum Orthotics and Prosthetics office locations of Chico, Oroville, and Yuba City.

Sanjay is originally from Mumbai, India where he attended the All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehab (AIIPMR) and received a Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. His wife Vimal received her Masters in physical therapy from AIIPMR as well. Sanjay knew he wanted to go into the medical field, but he wanted something with variety. He particularly was seeking something that permitted him to work both inside and outside the hospital. He discovered Orthotics and Prosthetics and immediately knew it was the right match; it was a good mix of both the technical world that he loved and the medical field with a work environment that provided variety. He moved to the US in 2006 where he successfully completed his board certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

After receiving his board certification, Sanjay then moved to LA, where he started one of his first Orthotics and Prosthetics jobs working for Hanger from 2006-2013. After starting a family Sanjay decided the busy life of LA was no place for his family and started to seek out a place to work in a smaller town where he and his wife could raise their 5 year old son Adi. His son Adi thinks the world of his father and wants to be a robotic engineer one day. When Sanjay found Spectrum he knew it was the right environment he was looking for.

Some of Sanjay's specialties within the Orthotics and Prosthetics field include microprocessor knees, vacuum systems for lower limb prosthesis and upper limb prosthesis including myo-electric hands. In his free time he enjoys playing golf, volleyball and watching cricket. He also likes to work with his hands and work on things around the house. Sanjay loves to cook as well; one of his favorite authentic Indian foods to prepare is Biryani which is a rice-based dish made with spices, rice (basmati) and chicken, mutton, fish, eggs, or vegetables.
