Splora Announces Free Phone Calls for Beta Testing Launch

MELBOURNE, Australia, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Melbourne based start up technology company, Splora is calling upon 30,000 individuals to test its new app for quality assurance prior to the official global launch on the 1st July 2015. During the beta testing period, testers can download the app for free and can call anywhere in the world at no cost for the month of June on their mobile phones.

Splora provides a global communications hub that will be launched as a full voice and video app, offering free calls from app to app with the option of a paid account to utilise unlimited calls to any phone (fixed or mobile) in the world.

The Splora app will connect friends and families but also businesses worldwide. Splora supersedes and replaces the traditional telephone exchange and old-fashioned on-premise PBX system. The innovative design of Splora and the network behind it forms the basis of the world's first telecommunications system that allows telephone extensions on mobiles and tablets anywhere in the world to be connected as if they were in the same building.

The app will launch with a full enterprise grade PBX solution. The Splora feature set is equivalent to features seen in top end corporate communication systems. The app will also allow the next generation of The Internet of Things to be seamlessly added to the Splora control panel in the near future.

Creator of the app, Terry Crews says, "I developed Splora as I could see no good reason why we were continually being charged exorbitant prices for phone calls, especially whilst travelling. The $6000 phone bill from my daughter on a recent overseas holiday was the straw that broke the camel's back! After testing products like Skype and Viber, I was less than impressed with the call quality and features. I set out to develop a Skype type product with excellent call and video quality but with features that have never been created before. I guess you could say that Splora is like Skype on steroids."

Splora has been developed using state-of-the-art technology and modern protocols. At its core is webRTC technology that allows communication directly between browsers. Once a call is established via a server, the two parties then communicate directly. This results in a more efficient use of bandwidth that delivers a better quality voice and video experience when compared to old technologies. The Splora network has worldwide coverage and operates on the Amazon AWS network.
