CLEVELAND, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Karin M. Spoerke, Senior Manager with the Assurance Service Group at Meaden & Moore, has been elected to the board of directors for PetFix Northeast Ohio, a nonprofit organization committed to ending pet overpopulation in Northeast Ohio.
As a member of the board, Ms. Spoerke will help direct PetFix in its mission to promote the importance of spaying and neutering pets and making surgeries affordable and accessible to low-income pet owners, feral cat caregivers, shelters, rescues and animal control agencies placing animals for adoption. The organization operates a mobile, state-of-the-art spay/neuter surgical clinic staffed by licensed veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians, and animal care technicians.
Ms. Spoerke is a certified public accountant with a wide variety of auditing experience in manufacturing, distribution, communications, employee benefits, and not-for-profit organizations. She is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. She also contributes to the community through Business Volunteers Unlimited, the American Liver Foundation, and the American Heart Association. In 2005, she received the YWCA Women of Professional Excellence Award.
