Sportech Racing Announces New Agreement through 2025 with Loteria Electronica Internacional Dominicana S.A. for the Provision of Technologies and Terminals to Support the Dominican Republic's Largest Electronic Lottery

NEW HAVEN, Conn., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sportech Racing LLC, a division of Sportech PLC (LSE: SPO), announced that it has entered into an agreement with Loteria Electronica Internacional Dominicana S.A. (LEIDSA) of the Dominican Republic that both extends the current agreement between the two companies and also provides for the addition of new wagering terminals, new software and new services.  Sportech Racing LLC (Sportech) has been providing the central wagering system and terminals that allow LEIDSA to offer electronic lottery products, as well as a host of other services, since the lottery's inception in 1997.

The new agreement extends the contract between Sportech and LEIDSA through 2025.  In addition, Sportech will deliver 200 WAVE terminals to complement the 1,600 WAVE units installed in 2012 and to further grow LEIDSA's retail network beyond the current 1,600 points-of-sale. 

The Sportech central system deployed for LEIDSA includes modifications that allow LEIDSA to offer multiple gaming and non-gaming products through a single central system and network of terminals.  Gaming products include lottery, bingo and keno.  Non-gaming products include vehicle insurance sales, cellular telephone calling card purchase and top-up services, and raffles.  Under the new contract, Sportech will provide an interface to accommodate the addition of new telephone calling card top-up products.  Also, concurrent with the signing of the new agreement, Sportech Racing has completed an integration project to interface the LEIDSA system to a third-party provider to support the sale of LEIDSA lottery products on cell phones and online.
