Sportech to Open State-of-the-Art Sports Bar and Restaurant Featuring New Concepts in Sports Entertainment
NEW HAVEN, Conn., Dec. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sportech Venues, Inc. ("Sportech"), the owner and operator of Winners sports bars and OTB in Connecticut, are pleased to announce the launch of a major new concept in sports entertainment at the Bradley Teletheater adjacent to Bradley International Airport on Schoepoester Road, in Windsor Locks. Construction concludes shortly, with the opening planned for early January 2014.
The sports bar and restaurant will seat three hundred customers and will feature 70 large screen TV's, a golf simulator, meeting room, and outdoor dining alongside the already popular betting facilities. The main attraction will be a 17 foot wide LED video wall, which will take the experience of watching sport to a new level.
The first 3 years of Sportech's ownership of Winners has seen a significant investment in improving all 15 facilities in the State to enhance the experience of customers and employees alike. The investment of $6 million into new televisions, furniture, betting terminals, carpeting, restrooms, landscaping and other improvements has been very well received by patrons statewide. The development of the flagship Windsor Locks location takes Sportech's investment to nearly $10 million.
Connecticut-based architects Jones Byrne Margeotes Partners of Greenwich (JBMP) and Van Horst General Contractors of East Hartford were selected to design and build the project.
Ted Taylor, Sportech's Managing Director said, "We've done a huge range of renovations in the first 3 years of our ownership, and I am delighted that this flagship project is nearing completion. This is an innovative leisure and entertainment complex that takes watching sport to a new level.
"This has been a major project and we needed local expertise to make it happen. I am delighted that we have been able to use some of Connecticut's finest craftsmen to help us create this magnificent facility."
Lindsey Rutka, President of Van Horst General Contractors said: "We are delighted to be involved on this great project from the start over a year ago. Ted and his team have developed a state-of-the-art venue to fit alongside their existing business and we look forward to enjoying this new experience for ourselves."
