Sports, Entertainment and Media Celebrities Will Play in Ahmad Rashad Golf Classic to Benefit White Plains Hospital Center

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports, entertainment and media celebrities will join hundreds of White Plains Hospital Center supporters on the links of the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale on Monday, June 28 for the Ahmad Rashad Golf Classic to benefit the Hospital. The star-studded golf outing is expected to be one of the Hospital's biggest fundraisers.

Celebrities scheduled to appear include: Michael Strahan, O.J. Anderson and Curtis McGriff, New York Giants Super Bowl champions; Alonzo Mourning, NBA Champion; Allan Houston, former shooting guard for the New York Knicks;  Charles Oakley, power forward in the NBA; Herb Williams, NBA Legend; Ron Harper, five-time NBA Champion; Bobby Bonilla, MLB Legend; Sean Fister, long drive champion; John Campbell, Hall of Fame harness driver; John MacLean, New Jersey Devil's Coach and NHL Stanley Cup champion; Maurice Dubois, co-anchor of CBS 2 News This Morning; Mike Breen, ABC Sportscaster; actors Aidan Quinn and Kevin Sorbo and others will take to the links at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club, Scarsdale, New York.

The golf outing, which will be played rain or shine, will begin with registration at 10:30 AM, followed by a brunch at 11 AM and the start of play at noon. A cocktail party and award ceremony are planned for 5:30 PM.

On the preceding evening, Sunday, June 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, there will be an opening event cocktail party at the Ritz-Carlton, Westchester in White Plains. Celebrities taking part in the Golf Classic will be in attendance and there will be a silent auction with incredible items to bid on.

Rashad is the host of NBA TV's Wednesday night show, "All Access with Ahmad." A graduate of the University of Oregon, where he was an All-American, Rashad was the 1995 recipient of the university's Pioneer Award, the highest honor given to an alumnus, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the university. A three-time All-Conference selection, Rashad set 14 school records and was the only player ever to lead the Pac-10 in scoring at two different positions (running back, wide receiver).
