SPYR to Co-Publish New Mobile Game, Retro Shot, Developed by Former Rovio "Angry Birds" Team
DENVER, Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SPYR, INC. (OTCQB: SPYR), a holding company with wholly owned subsidiaries in the digital publishing and advertising industry, mobile game and app development industry, and the food service industry, today announced that its subsidiary, SPYR APPS, LLC, has entered into an agreement with Super+ Games (www.superplusgames.com) to co-publish its new game, Retro Shot, a retro arcade game fully equipped with neon lights, an 80's synthwave soundtrack, free-to-play game mechanics and monetization. Super+ Games, a Finnish company, was founded by former Rovio employees who were part of the team that developed "Angry Birds".
Retro Shot has been in development for a number of months and is expected to be ready for soft launch by early November. A full launch in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is anticipated in December.
The three founders of Super+ Games, Petteri Linnakangas (CTO), Kalle Makinen (CEO) and Joonas Mäkilä (CCO), have almost 30 years of combined experience in the mobile games development industry and have been involved in the development of more than 70 titles, including such Finnish success stories as Angry Birds and the Flatout Series.
The development team describes Retro Shot as a unique combination of mini golf and 80's pinball games. Retro Shot has a very special soundtrack to complement its retro aesthetic. Finnish game musician Tommi Salomaa and Super+ are planning to release the sound track on Spotify after launch of the game.
