Former Company Vice President & Check Processing Veteran Honored for His Contributions
RANCOCAS, N.J., March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SQN Banking Systems (sqnbankingsystems.com), a leading provider of integrated fraud detection and process improvement products for the financial industry, today celebrates the accomplishments of the late Charles Costanza, the company's former vice president of business development and marketing who passed away on March 18.
"Charlie played an instrumental role in our company's evolution, providing invaluable insights into what he thought we should be working on and how the industry was evolving. Beyond SQN, his contributions to the check processing and fraud protection industries were plentiful," explained Joe Uhland, President of SQN Banking Systems. "Charlie was a cheerful, independent, and trusted advisor to many, with a large circle of friends, and he will be sorely missed."
Costanza led SQN's business development and marketing, forging new partnerships and bank relationships, from 1995 until his retirement in 2011. He began his career at a bank in upstate New York in 1955, and proceeded to earn a reputation as an expert in banking automation and check processing. His career accomplishments included:
- improving reject processing at Lundy Financial Systems;
- developing the first overdraft checking account system linking checking, savings and line of credit at Lincoln Rochester Trust Inc. (Chase Manhattan); and
- enabling state-wide processing and remote processing centers at Marine Midland Bank (HSBC).
Costanza is survived by his wife of 57 years, as well as his three children and eight grandchildren.
