SRA Wins $22 Million Award to Support Federal Public Key Infrastructure Management Authority
FAIRFAX, Va., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SRA International, Inc., a leading provider of IT solutions and professional services to government organizations, today announced that the company was awarded a contract to provide operational, technical, design, and advisory support for the General Services Administration's Federal Public Key Infrastructure Management Authority (FPKIMA). The contract includes one year plus 4 option years and the total value if all options are exercised is $22 million.
Federal agencies have established the Federal Public Key Infrastructure (FPKI) to secure online information and allow cross-organizational access by providing centralized, interoperable public key infrastructure (PKI). The FPKI facilitates secure (trusted) physical and logical access, document sharing, and communications (e.g., secure email) across Federal agencies and between and among Federal agencies and outside bodies such as universities, state and local governments, commercial entities, and other communities of interest. The FPKIMA operates and maintains the FPKI Trust Infrastructure, which is the backbone of the FPKI. SRA will leverage its expertise in mission-focused IT to deliver operations, maintenance and security management support to provide uninterrupted operational support for the full lifecycle of the FPKI systems.
Richard Clarke, SRA's Executive Advisor for Cyber Security and Counterterrorism commented, "Through its support to the FPKI program, SRA is helping the federal government increase the use of encrypted data storage while assisting in the migration away from passwords to more secure user identification and authorization on Federal systems "
