STA Education Foundation Announces Local Scholarship Awards

CHARLESTON, S.C., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Student Transportation of America Education Foundation (STAEF) announced it will award cash scholarships this year of $1,000 each to 16 high school students from the Greater Charleston area.  Scholarships were awarded to high school seniors who displayed pride in their community and are choosing to attend a college or university in South Carolina.  An awards luncheon will be held on June 7 at the Daniel Island Club to recognize all of this year's award winners.  The recipients are:

The cornerstone of STAEF's fundraising efforts for these scholarships is the Foundation's partnership with the PGA Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island held in October.  The STAEF was the Host Organization for the event in 2009 and will continue that partnership in 2010 and 2011.  The goal is to increase national awareness of the Foundation so it can provide additional scholarships in the coming years to high school seniors in communities that STA serves, including the Greater Charleston area.
