Stand with West Point Cadets Campaign Launches Support Today
MATTESON, Ill., May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The #STANDwithwestpointcadets Campaign launched today as an effort to support the West Point Cadets who are facing possible disciplinary actions for a recent photo in which they posed with raised fists. The cadets are currently under investigation for possible violations of the academy's policies regarding adhering to guidelines while in uniform.
The campaign was launched by Rev. Dr. Alexis Felder, Minister of Ministry Operations at the New Faith Baptist Church International located at 25 South Central Avenue in Matteson, IL 60443, where she serves along with her husband and Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Trunell Felder. In a public statement made today, Dr. Alexis Felder said, "These women will train and lead Americans to protect America and other nations in the fight for democracy. It is about endurance, pride, strength and achievement. The raising of their fist is patriotic and a sign of our nation's progress. Their fists in the air means 'We did it!!! We achieved the once unachievable for ourselves and for our country!!'"
A Facebook page has been created to encourage public support for the West Point Cadets: https://www.facebook.com/standwithwestpointcadets/.
