LONDON, Oct. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Refrigeration, a leading provider of industrial refrigeration solutions, is set to take a leading role at Cold Chain Live 2025 as a Platinum Sponsor. The event, organised annually by the Cold Chain Federation, is taking place on 15–16 October 2025 at the Telford International Centre and will bring together operators, decision-makers, and innovators from across the UK temperature-controlled logistics sector.
Star Refrigeration will take the stage twice during the conference to share real-world, data-driven insights on sustainable refrigeration technologies and the growing role of AI in optimising cold storage facilities.
On Day 1, Wednesday 15 October at 12:00 in the Green Zone, Dr Rob Lamb, Group Sales and Marketing Director, will present 'Beyond the Hype: Safe, Sustainable Cooling Systems that Stand the Test of Time'. This session will explore the industry's move away from f-gases towards natural refrigerants, focusing on ammonia and carbon dioxide. It will compare the merits of both refrigerants, with emphasis on how low charge ammonia refrigeration systems can deliver the optimum solution for operators when balancing energy efficiency, operational resilience, lifecycle costs, and environmental impact. Attendees will also learn how benchmarking cold store performance using Specific Energy Consumption and the use of real-time data analysis is delivering energy and carbon savings.
On Day 2, Thursday 16 October at 11:20 in the Innovation Zone, Anne Flanagan, Star Data Analytics Manager, will deliver 'Ethos in Action – Saving 9 GWh and 2,000 tonnes CO₂e at Asda and Tesco's Cold Stores'. This session demonstrates how Star's AI-led optimisation system identified inefficiencies, predicted future energy demand, and delivered practical recommendations that reduced energy costs, cut carbon emissions, and extended equipment life.
Dr Rob Lamb, Group Sales and Marketing Director said: "We're really looking forward to Cold Chain Live 2025 as platinum sponsors. It's always a highlight of the year to catch up with operators, engineers, and other professionals working across the cold storage sector, and to have in-depth discussions about the challenges they face every day. From improving energy efficiency and selecting the right refrigerants to maintaining safe and compliant operations, these conversations are a chance to share practical experience and learn more about our customers' most pressing challenges."
"We're also excited to show how real-time data and operational insights can make a tangible difference in performance and sustainability. Being part of this event allows us to connect directly with the people who are shaping the industry and explore solutions together."
Visitors can find Star Refrigeration at Stand 202, where the company's technical experts will be available to discuss topics such as energy efficiency, safety, regulatory compliance, and digital tools for optimising cold storage operations.
The two-day event will feature leading speakers, expert panels, and exhibitors, offering attendees opportunities to explore innovations and gain insights into sustainable, high-performance cold storage operations.
