Goldstein, who is a NY City Paramedic, explained that the purpose of the patent-pending kit design was to keep life-saving tools and supplies within an arm's reach in the event of an emergency.

On January 21, New York is expected to endure dangerously cold weather with a snow emergency status.

The cold and icy weather, a historically large contributor to auto accidents, is part of a pattern of extreme weather that occurs every decade or so, according to forecasters.
