Dr. Kast is a StonyBrook and New York University trained board certified physician and surgeon.  He has served as Chairman of the Department at various hospitals, including West Boca Medical Center, chairing Credential, Hospital Admissions, Blood Utilization, Tissue, and Quality Assurance Committees.  Dr. Kast formerly held the position of Vice President of the Palm Medical Independent Practice Association, a select group of the most prominent physicians in Palm Beach County.  He has also served on the Medical Advisory Committee to the Board of Medicine, helping to draft policy for the Board of Medicine and reviewing standards of care issues on behalf of the State of Florida.
