Stephen G. Bondi Joins van Biema Value Partners As Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- van Biema Value Partners, LLC, is pleased to announce that Stephen G. Bondi has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the company. In this role, Mr. Bondi will report directly to Michael van Biema, the firm's founder and managing partner. He will be instrumental in expanding the firm's capabilities in the areas of operational due diligence, finance, risk management, new business development and client service.

With his extensive experience and broad array of industry contacts, Mr. Bondi will be responsible for the overall operations of van Biema Value Partners. He joins an experienced team that operates based on two fundamental tenets: that a value approach outperforms other investment styles as well as the broader markets over the long term and that small managers tend to outperform larger managers.

Mr. Bondi joins the firm from Asset Alliance Corporation, where for the past 10 years he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Asset Alliance, Mr. Bondi spent nearly 18 years with GAMCO Investors, Inc. ("GAMCO"), joining the firm in 1982 when it had less than $400 million in AUM and departing in 2000 after the firm became publicly listed on the NYSE in 1999.

While at GAMCO, Mr. Bondi held a number of executive and board positions, including serving as Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration of GAMCO as well as President of Gabelli Securities, Inc., the parent company to their alternatives business.

Mr. Bondi is a graduate of Hofstra University, where he earned a BBA in Accounting, and a graduate of Columbia Business School, where he earned his MBA. He is also a CPA.
