Sterling Bank and Its Employees Rally to Raise Funds for March of Dimes
HOUSTON, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Bank today kicked off its fundraising efforts encouraging employees to raise money and awareness for the Houston chapter of the March of Dimes. All Sterling Bank locations in Houston will be hosting events to raise money for March of Dimes and the general public is encouraged to visit and donate to this worthwhile cause.
Sterling Bank's previous fundraising efforts are noteworthy because the employees and the bank have bested much larger organizations in their fundraising efforts, making the Sterling Bank team the 7th largest Houston corporate fundraising team in 2009, the 12th largest in 2008, and the 11th largest fundraising team in 2007. These accomplishments in fundraising for March of Dimes have been one of the key factors for which Sterling Bank has been awarded the Cornerstone Award by The Texas Bankers Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Texas Bankers Association.
Since 2007, Sterling employees have on their own raised more than $175,000 bringing the total contributions for Sterling Bank and its employees to over $250,000 since 2007.
Scheduled internal fundraising initiatives for employees include a virtual pumpkin carving, cutest pet and child Halloween costume contests and an online auction that will allow employees to bid to "Dress an Executive for Halloween."
Sterling Bank has 31 locations in the metropolitan Houston area and 56 in Texas. The 36-year-old independent bank specializes in relationship banking for owner-operated businesses, and delivers a full line of personal banking services, as well. In addition to competitive loan and deposit products, Sterling offers international banking, treasury management services, home equity loans, and investment services, plus a full staff of experienced professional bankers.
