
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- NCPDP, an ANSI-accredited, nonprofit standards development organization, today announced that Steve Mullenix, R.Ph., Executive Vice President of Public Policy & Professional/Industry Relations, will conclude his tenure with the organization on June 1, 2026, following 17 years of exceptional leadership and service.
Since joining NCPDP in 2009, Steve has been an invaluable member of the leadership team, serving as a passionate advocate for the organization's mission and a driving force behind many of its most impactful public policy initiatives and industry relationships. His work has greatly impacted NCPDP's role as a leader in healthcare standards and innovation.
Steve's contributions have been especially notable in expanding NCPDP's visibility and credibility with federal and state agencies, stakeholder organizations, and strategic partners. Under his guidance, the organization's public policy agenda has become more proactive, unified, and aligned with the evolving needs of healthcare interoperability and patient safety.
Throughout his tenure, Steve has:
- Championed initiatives that improved healthcare data exchange and advanced patient safety
- Strengthened relationships across the pharmacy and healthcare ecosystem, including government and industry partners
- Played a pivotal role in advancing key NCPDP standards, such as the SCRIPT Standard for ePrescribing, Telecommunication Standard, and other tools supporting accurate and efficient medication exchange.
Steve's background spans decades of pharmacy and healthcare leadership, including executive roles at Medicap Pharmacies, Covidien/Mallinckrodt, QA, Inc., and the Iowa Pharmacy Association. A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy, Steve has brought unmatched expertise and strategic insight to every role he has held.
