Steven P. Merzweiler Joins Landmark Plastic As Operations Director

AKRON, Ohio, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Landmark Plastic Corporation, a leading manufacturer of thermoformed and injection molded horticultural products, announced that Steven P. Merzweiler has joined the company as Operations Director.  Merzweiler, son of Robert G. Merzweiler, Landmark's Chairman & CEO, has spent the last couple years as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Chicago.  Merzweiler will be responsible for various corporate-wide initiatives with an emphasis on customer relationships and sales.

Steve is a graduate of the University of Dayton with dual majors in entrepreneurship and marketing. He also earned an MBA from DePaul University with dual majors in finance and accounting.

Steve Merzweiler will be the fourth generation of family members in the horticulture business and the third generation in horticultural plastic packaging. Steve's great grandfather, Alfred Glendenning, operated a greenhouse in Westlake, Ohio. Steve's grandfather, Leo Merzweiler, founded his first plastics company in 1954 and was a plastics and horticultural packaging pioneer, devoting his entire career to both industries. The family's thermoformed product innovations continued with his son, Bob, and the establishment in 1984 of Landmark Plastic Corporation. Bob Merzweiler, in addition to his role founding and running Landmark Plastic, has had extensive involvement in many industry and community organizations including being a founding member and past president of PolymerOhio and a member of the processor council of the Society of Plastics Industry (SPI). Bob is a past Chair of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), the Akron Community Foundation and Info Line.
