
Still Time to Participate in KFC's 'Buckets for the Cure' Program
LOCAL KFC RESTAURANTS PARTNER WITH SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE
CHICAGO, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the national KFC "Buckets for the Cure" program, more than 140 KFC Restaurants in Chicago and Northwest Indiana have been raising money by selling pink buckets since April 14.
Local KFC store are donating 50 cents for each pink bucket sold to Komen for the Cure. Funds will be used for education and research about the causes and treatment of breast cancer and the search for a cure. The program runs through May 24th.
The KFC Chicago/Northwest Indiana Co-op hopes to raise at least $100,000, according to co-op President Pete Wasilevich. "It's such an important cause we hope that not only our regular customers will contribute, but that new customers and concerned businesses people in the community will join us as well," he said.
