The new McLaren MP4-12C sports car is being presented at 'The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists &; Engineers Fair', at ICC London ExCeL (March 10-12). McLaren is also presenting the MP4/1 Formula 1 car, which introduced carbon chassis technology to Formula 1 and the automotive world at its launch in March 1981. Chief Engineer of the 12C, Neil Patterson, is leading the McLaren Automotive team at the event and has been selected by organizers to take a seat on the judging panel of 'The National Science and Engineering Competition', covering all areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Visiting the Fair to lend his support, the Business Secretary, Vince Cable, stopped to view the 12C and spoke to McLaren personnel and students who had assembled on the McLaren stand.
