OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kansas City mom and entrepreneur, Hilary Philgreen, The StinkBOSS, (https://stinkboss.com) won $100,000 from Steve Harvey's FUNDERDOME competition on ABC.
StinkBOSS, an all-in-one dryer, sanitizer, and deodorizer for smelly shoes and sports gear, was created by local business woman Hilary Philgreen. Philgreen was thrilled to be chosen as a winner. "What an exciting event it was. I am thrilled that StinkBOSS was chosen as a winner and that the audience felt it was a product it could get behind. I enjoyed the whole experience, met some wonderful people, and competed against an amazing product."
Steve Harvey's FUNDERDOME, from executive producer Mark Burnett, is a seed-funding competition reality series where two rising entrepreneurs go head-to-head to win over a live studio audience to fund their ideas, products or companies. The audience represents the "customer" and, as the customer is always right, they vote to determine the winner.
StinkBOSS was the popular choice among viewers taking to social media. On Twitter, StinkBOSS received 81 percent of the votes. Philgreen explained, "I felt like the audience really connected - everybody has stink, not everybody has a cat. I still believe that the Grand PooBox is a solid product. While on stage, I was listening to the other presentation thinking 'Wow, I really need that litter box for my two cats!'. I was actually so impressed by the Grand PooBox that I pre-ordered one on their website!"
StinkBOSS is a shoe deodorizing machine that not only deodorizes, it also dries and disinfects smelly shoes and active gear. The machine was manufactured to produce ozone that is then pumped throughout the chamber to kill odor-causing bacteria. StinkBOSS was named a finalist in the Global Innovation Awards at the 2017 International Home and Housewares Show and was featured on the Today Show's Hot Fall Gadgets segment.
