Stoddard's Range and Guns Opens First Public Indoor Gun Range Inside City Limits of Atlanta
ATLANTA, Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stoddard's Range and Guns today opened the first commercial indoor shooting range within the city of Atlanta.
The 34,000-square-foot facility, which is located at 485 Bishop St. in West Midtown, gives long-time shooters, novices and law enforcement alike the opportunity to shoot recreationally, train professionally and learn about firearms and firearm safety in a secure environment. The combination retail store and shooting range focuses on customer service and safety.
The new Atlanta location marks the second Stoddard's location for owners Michael Halbreich and Ken Baye. The former real estate attorneys opened the first location in Douglasville in August 2011.

The 24 climate-controlled shooting lanes — comprised of 16 25-yard lanes and eight 25-meter lanes — are equipped with a number of safety features that exceed industry standards, including eight-inch-thick concrete walls and bullet-resistant viewing windows. The eight 25-meter lanes, while open to all, are attractive to international competitive shooters.
An ultramodern air filtration system will continuously provide customers with clean air and remove any lingering airborne gunshot residue. Air inside the range will be cleaned through a triple filtration system.
Certified range instructors will provide on-site training classes, and no one will be allowed onto the range without meeting strict safety standards. For new shooters, Stoddard's instructors will offer basic handgun orientations at no charge.
Complementing the range, a 6,500-square-foot firearms store featured every major brand of firearms and firearm accessories, including Beretta, Smith & Wesson, Glock, Heckler & Koch, Sig Sauer, FN, Colt, Remington, Kimber, Ruger, Mossberg, Perazzi, Benelli and Safariland. The store includes a 1,000-square-foot Beretta-branded store featuring apparel in addition to Beretta guns.
Stoddard's will also offer full gunsmithing services.
