STR3EM Team Announces Support for DECE's UltraViolet Market Branding with Patented, Licensed SDK Powered by Login with Facebook®
NEW YORK, March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The STR3EM Team announces its official support for the promise of DECE's UltraViolet market branding with the release of a patented, licensed software development kit (SDK) for Java developers. This SDK provides a worldwide digital rights locker, powered by Login with Facebook, that offers B2C processing of a secure multimedia container format and a proof of purchase-style certificate standard (used for cross-platform digital rights portability). The company is distributing the SDK as a white-label solution to synchronize consumers' access rights to digital products and services across competing software and hardware vendors. Included with the SDK is a tool that helps vendors defend themselves against frivolous patent claims via a joint license for the patent-pending Personalized Digital Media Access System (PDMAS) specification.
Adding to the availability of the STR3EM authoring tools for Microsoft Windows, the SDK allows developers to install a universal access-monitoring module as the front-end user interface to an infrastructure of media and service deliverables utilizing various DRM technology standards.
A new concept of digital product ownership is introduced by replacing a physical item with a KodeKey digital token, which never expires, connected to the digital products and services delivered to consumers. The KodeKey Rights Locker syncs users' rights between vendor-distributed applications powered with the SDK in order to deliver universal access to products through an expansive system comprising content delivery networks and Internet streaming services.
Consumers can verify their access rights to products and services at any time - by using their digital tokens and Facebook login credentials - to help them with recovery after a computer disaster or with the purchase of a new machine.
Login with Facebook is the SDK's default user identification component and developers can define access and sharing rules for the system's deliverables for more than 500 million registered users and their connected friends (such as family members). As an alternative, developers can request custom versions of the SDK installed with other user ID modules consisting of popular authentication services.
"2011 begins the era of universal access to digital products and we are giving consumers and vendors the tools they need to make lifetime digital media investments a reality," said William Grecia, STR3EM's founder and chief executive officer. "We are standing by our invention and delivering an openly available and tangible solution for developers along with the guarantee of an official PDMAS license. We are providing the interoperable glue required to sync consumers' access rights across a vast array of established and future digital services."
