StraighterLine, University of the People team up to offer $5K bachelor's degree pathway as part of 'Finish Your Degree' initiative

With no course caps and fully self-paced learning, the program helps students finish 
their degrees faster and maximize savings

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- StraighterLine, the leading provider of affordable, self-paced college courses and University of the People, the world's first tuition-free, accredited online university, have partnered to offer a new pathway for students to earn a bachelor's degree for just $5,000.

The program, launched today, is part of StraighterLine's broader 'Finish Your Degree' initiative aimed at helping learners push back against the normalization of student debt and other barriers that make completing college seem out of reach.

Students enrolled in the $5K Degree Program will complete their general education courses through StraighterLine at a low monthly flat rate, then transfer to the University of the People to finish their degree. They can choose from three high-demand concentrations: business administration and health science, available for $5,000, or computer science, available for $6,000.

As part of the partnership, StraighterLine's Semester Membership plan will be offered to current University of the People students at a discounted rate.
