Strait Capital's John Relton Named Recipient Of The Dallas Business Journal's "40 Under 40" And The Asian American Business Development Center's Outstanding 50 Asian Americans In Business
Mr. Relton's business and philanthropic practices earn local and national recognition
DALLAS, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dallas-based Strait Capital Company, a professional firm providing private financial oversight and fund administration for private equity funds, hedge funds, family offices and asset managers, announced that Founder and Managing Director John S. Relton was selected as one of the Dallas Business Journal's 2014 "40 Under 40" honorees and as a recipient of The Asian American Business Development Center's 2014 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award. Currently, minority-owned Strait Capital oversees in excess of $1.2 billion in assets, making the firm the largest locally-owned administration practice that is SOC 1 Type 2 certified (as audited by BDO USA LLP).
"John has built his career around serving funds and family offices as well as philanthropic organizations," said Howard Rachofsky, a Dallas-based art collector and retired hedge fund manager. "It's fitting that both of these entities would choose to honor his achievements, his work ethic, and his commitment to his clients and the broader community."
The Dallas Business Journal judges select executives and entrepreneurs 39 years of age or younger who are leaders in business and community involvement. Mr. Relton will be formally recognized by the Dallas Business Journal at a special reception honoring nominees on May 29, as well as featured in the May 30 issue of the magazine.
The Asian American Business Development Center honors outstanding leaders of a diverse range of Asian ethnicities who have built a successful business or who have distinguished themselves in their communities and worked to strengthen the economy and society. Award recipients will be honored at a gala dinner event in New York City on June 19.
Mr. Relton actively supports his local community through philanthropic initiatives, including serving as a board member of Dallas Contemporary, The Arts Community Alliance (TACA), Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business Accounting Alumni and Professional Advisory Board, and as a former board member of Chiapas International. Mr. Relton also supports Great Investors' Best Ideas Foundation (benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and The Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation) and Two x Two for Aids and Art (benefiting amfAR and Dallas Museum of Art).
In 2013, Mr. Relton was also selected by the Dallas Business Journal to receive its Minority Business Leader Award.
