SALT LAKE CITY, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Study.Net Corporation (www.study.net) today confirmed plans to extend the company's services to the Apple iPad for use during the fall academic term. These actions reinforce the company's commitment to enhance education and collaborative learning through the use of technology.
Jay McGoodwin, President and CEO, noted, "Obviously, the iPad is a potential game changer when it comes to convenience and ease-of-use. More importantly, the iPad has prompted traditional publishers to expand content delivery strategies and make it increasingly possible for students to access and manage all of their course materials online."
Study.Net's service is used by instructors to assemble course content from multiple sources for direct online delivery. Students will be able to use an iPad to purchase, view, and save course materials delivered by Study.Net. The company will also introduce capabilities to annotate documents for personal use and facilitate increased collaboration.
Dennis Saulnier, Director of Education Technology at Harvard Business Publishing, shared, "Harvard Business Publishing is very interested in tools, like the iPad, that offer students a unique opportunity to collaborate on and analyze our case studies. HBP is excited to work with Study.Net to help facilitate that interaction."
According to Mr. McGoodwin, "Study.Net's focus has always been on the user experience. Working with content publishers like Harvard Business Publishing, and utilizing the best available technologies, our goal is to provide the convenience of electronic delivery in an environment that allows students to learn as effectively as possible."
Maureen Betses, Vice President of Higher Education at Harvard Business Publishing notes:
"Over the years, Study.Net has been instrumental in helping HBP deliver HBS cases and Harvard Business Review articles to the many business students and professors who prefer the convenience and flexibility of digital delivery. As business students begin the migration to mobile devices for course material, academic publishers like HBP must seek partners who have remained in step and are ready to deliver materials in the manner that meets the needs of 21st-century business schools. We feel fortunate that Study.Net has already established itself as a leader in mobile delivery.
