Experience a different adventure on every level of Acuario Inbursa

A world-class installation designed for education and entertainment, visitors will be escorted through thematic scenes where they can experience an interactive approach to marine life by touching and feeding some of the world's most marvelous creatures, from starfish to stingrays.

Acuario Inbursa includes an entire floor of specialized equipment that supports its marine life and filters 22 million liters of seawater brought from Veracruz daily. This process recreates the same conditions found in the creatures' natural habitat.

The motivation for constructing Acuario Inbursa came from the severe deterioration of marine ecosystems and the desire to educate visitors about the importance of conserving our world's ocean life. Acuario Inbursa is not only an exhibition center, it's also a center of conservation.

The mission of Acuario Inbursa is to inspire a passion for marine life, which is why it will have educational programs to inform visitors about important issues affecting the marine world, and inspire them to learn even more.

Additionally, its conservation program for endangered marine species will educate visitors about reproductive programs and proper handling of sea life, such as coral, seahorses and jellyfish. The Conservation Center (CECONSE) at Acuario Inbursa comprises a group of specialists who analyze water samples, prepare the diets for each and every specimen, nurse the quarantines and supervise reproduction phases.

Acuario Inbursa is also dedicated to the preservation of coral reefs, given that 60% of the world's reefs are endangered and they may cease to exist entirely if nothing is done to protect them within the next 30 years.

In order to reinforce its mission, Acuario Inbursa has established strategic alliances with the Acuario of Veracruz, the Instituto Tecnologico de Boca del Rio, Veracruz (ITMAR) and the Acuario of Mazatlan for the continued development of joint conservation programs. Acuario Inbursa will contribute by providing professional training for future generations of veterinarians and biologists through social service programs, professional practices, and internships.

Currently, Acuario Inbursa is in the process of establishing collaborative agreements with WWF (World Wildlife Fund), the Veterinarian and Zoology department of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and the Biological Science and Health Department of the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana de Xochimilco.
