Subscription Underwear Service BirdBriefs Launches in Austin, TX
AUSTIN, Texas, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Austin-based underwear subscription company BirdBriefs announced its introduction to the consumer market this week. BirdBriefs manufactures and provides men's boxer brief style underwear to subscribers on a quarterly basis, emphasizing quality, convenience, and pricing.
"Most guys have at least one pair of underwear with holes or stretched out elastic that just linger in their laundry rotation because they're too inconvenient to replace," said BirdBriefs founder Zach Bird. "At BirdBriefs, our goal is to make purchasing basic wear as easy as possible - worn out undies, socks with holes and missing matches, and stretched out undershirts should be a thing of the past."
Currently, the company offers three packages -- 2, 3, or 4 pairs of boxer briefs per quarter -- and provides just one color of underwear, black boxer briefs with white typing and their signature logo at the top of the waistband.
"Our first offering is just basic black undies: straightforward and versatile," Bird said. "But we will be expanding into other high-quality basics soon. Keep your eyes out for socks and additional colors to our boxer brief line in the near future."
Packages ship out every 90 days from the purchase date. The subscription service will launch with about 30 customers who pre-ordered one of the packages. However, launching a new business is not without hiccups, Bird said.
"Our strongest early feedback indicated that consumers want a breadth of options when it comes to their unmentionables, especially with respect to color," he said. "Most of our customers are college-aged males or young professionals and, while they're happy with a basic style, they want variety in terms of what they wear day to day. Long story short, new colors are on the way."
BirdBriefs has been featured by Texas local media outlets CultureMap and KTXDTV. BirdBriefs is currently accepting new subscribers online at BirdBriefs.com.
