Sugarmade Begins Receiving Orders for CannaShroud™ Cannabis Transport System

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Nov. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sugarmade, Inc. (OTC:SGMD) today announces it has begun receiving orders for its new CannaShroud™ cannabis transport packaging system specifically designed to allow for discrete and protected transportation of cannabis. 

Sugarmade has designed an odor barrier product line with unique properties.  The inner liner is a combination of two plastic film types – High Density Polyethylene (PE) and Polyamide (PA).  While PE is known for being very flexible with good tear resistance, it is a poor gas barrier, which readily allows for odor transfer.  Sandwiched between layers of PE is an inner liner of PA film, which is known for its superior gas barrier properties.

"The PA plastic film we use in CannaShroud has a oxygen transmission rate of only 60 and a carbon dioxide rate of only 16 (cm3·m-2·d-1), compared to PE, which has a rates of 600 and 220, respectively," commented Jimmy Chan, CEO.  "Using CannaShroud significantly reduces odors during transport and this combined with the discretely labeled outer cartons means that owners and shippers of product can improve safety and reduce losses.  These issues remain major concerns in the developing cannabis industry.  Thus far, interest in this unique shipping technology has been very strong."

CannaShroud is a two-piece cannabis transport packaging system.  The inner liner is PE and PA plastic films with a unique dual zip lock that seals air from entering the package and seals in the odors from contents, all while optimizing moisture preservation.  The liner is specifically designed to prevent airflow, while not being so thick that it becomes difficult to load materials or to handle.  The liners are sized to exactly fit the outside carton, which makes up the second section of the packaging.  The cartons are discretely labeled with generic shipping labels or are blank as not to reveal the contents being shipped.  CannaShroud will be available in four sizes to suit the specific shipping needs of the growing cannabis industry.
