With more than 30 years of global brand management experience, Ms. Wade focuses her practice on trademark and unfair competition law in a wide variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, medical technology and food service. She has substantial knowledge in counseling clients from the U.S. and abroad in all aspects of trademark practice including selection, searches and opinions, registration, licensing, enforcement, due diligence in corporate acquisitions and Internet issues. Another aspect of Ms. Wade's practice is her work in the area of trademark issues in franchising for both domestic and international companies.
Ms. Wade received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. Her bar membership includes the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit and she will serve as an Of Counsel for Sughrue.
Ms. Roth joins Sughrue as a partner. Her practice focuses on all aspects of trademark counseling, prosecution, enforcement, due diligence, dispute resolution and Internet and cyber piracy issues, both in the U.S. and internationally. In addition, Ms. Roth has significant experience managing trademark administrative proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She also routinely counsels clients in the expansion of their marks into international markets and in the resolution of domain name disputes. Ms. Roth's business sense, coupled with her knowledge of trademark law, enables her to develop strategies and solutions that not only help her clients resolve problems, but in many instances, prevent the expense of litigation.
Ms. Roth received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Rochester, and her J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University School of Law. She is admitted to the bar in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
