Summit Motorsports Management announces long-term lease of go-kart track in Centennial

DENVER, May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Motorsports Management (SMM), an industry leader in indoor go-karting and entertainment, today announced the addition of the Centennial, Colorado outdoor track to their portfolio, offering extended opportunities for karting and entertainment across the state.

"Adding the Centennial outdoor track is a major step in our plan to bring high-end karting experiences to Colorado," said Scott Sutton, CEO and Founder of Summit Motorsports Management. "This track has been an important part of Colorado's karting scene for the last ten years.  We are excited to have been selected as the operator going forward."

This location will be managed by Greg Welch, the current manager of Unser Karting's successful Performance Division.  Welch, who has been with the company since it's inception in 2010, will manage all aspects of the facility, as well as the aggressive improvement plan.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to first reopen the property and then execute our improvement plan," said Welch. "We will focus our efforts on creating a world-class facility to accommodate enthusiasts owning their own karts, corporate events and retail rental customers."

SMM takes possession of the Centennial location on June 1, 2016, and will begin basic track enhancements at that time. While the track will be open to customers with their own karts and equipment on or before July 1, 2016, plans are in place to bring in karts for rental racing early in 2017.  Development plans include the construction of a main building including a customer service area, bar/restaurant, conference space and a kart pro shop in the next 12-24 months.
