Summit Natural Gas of Maine Celebrates Milestone for Kennebec Valley Project

WATERVILLE, Maine , Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Natural Gas of Maine on Tuesday hosted an event at Thomas College to celebrate the installation of more than 100 miles of pipeline for the company's planned $350 million natural gas project in the Kennebec Valley region.

"Today's event marks the success of the hundreds of people who have helped us bring natural gas to Maine, and the beginning of a whole new way for Mainers in the region to save on their heating costs. More than 1,500 customers have already signed contracts with Summit to save on their heating costs and use a more versatile and environmentally-friendly energy source. The company's first customers will receive gas service this month.

Summit Natural Gas of Maine will begin a $110 million project for the southern Maine towns of Cumberland, Falmouth and Yarmouth in 2014.
