FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Design Remodeling Specialists, Inc. of Burke, VA, today announced that it has added a new member to its team and has promoted two others.  The new member is Doug Dillard.  Promoted are Dave Paccassi and Dave Cleary.  Earlier this month, the company announced the addition of its first in-house architect, Rick Simmonds.

Bob Gallagher, President of Sun Design, said, "Clients love working with our team, a fact that explains our high rate of referrals and repeat business.  We hire the best people and create a terrific workplace in which they can do their best."

  • The new member of the team is Doug Dillard, Designer. Doug has a broad background in many aspects of home construction, remodeling and sales.  As a Designer for Sun Design, not only is Doug responsible for presenting innovative designs that exceed clients expectations, but he also stays current on industry trends, building codes, products and practices. Doug joined Sun Design after consulting to design-build companies in Northern Virginia and homeowners where his client list included Encompass Design-Build, JP Brehony, Clearview Homes and Foxcraft Design Group.  Until 2008, he was involved in design development, zoning and code review and construction administration for Fisher Group.  There he handled custom single-family residences, additions and renovations.  Doug earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

  • Dave Paccassi has been promoted to Design Consultant: Dave joined the Sun Design team in 2009 as Purchasing and Estimating Chief and was promoted in 2011.  As a Design Consultant for Sun Design, Dave's priority is to listen to and understand client needs and desires for their project.  This often includes reasons why someone is interested in remodeling, as well as budgetary and timeframe concerns.  Educating prospects and clients about the design-build process -- from concept to completion -- also plays a big role in his responsibilities.  Before Sun Design, Dave spent 11 years with Rice Contracting Corporation where he was the company's chief estimator.  At Rice, he won an average of 20 jobs per year, many of them multi-million-dollar projects with major contractors.  He was responsible for the estimating department where he hired and trained staff.  Dave earned a Bachelor of Science degree in urban systems engineering from George Mason University.

  • Dave Cleary has been promoted to Purchasing Agent for Sun Design.  Dave is responsible for bidding out all estimates and approving contracts with subcontractors.  This will include performing all trade walks to ensure that all aspects of projects are thoroughly thought-out.  With his 15 years of construction experience, Dave also will be reviewing plans from the Designers to ensure a smooth transition to the production department.  Before Sun Design, he was a carpenter for Tradesmen International in Chantilly where he worked on projects as varied as a police headquarters, a BJ's Wholesale Club and office buildings in downtown Washington, D.C.  Prior to that, Dave and his family ran their own business, Cleary Construction, Inc., in Centreville, VA, where he was superintendent.
