Sunnyland Patio Furniture Wins Governor's Small Business Award
DALLAS, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunnyland Patio Furniture, Dallas Fort Worth's largest source for quality outdoor furnishings and accessories, is the recipient of the Small Business Award for Corporate Social Responsibility as chosen by the Governor's Small Business Forum. The award is presented by Governor Greg Abbott's office to a company that has demonstrated a positive impact on society, contributing to the social or environmental well-being of the community.

The Helping Hands committee at Sunnyland has organized events such as food and toy drives in the winter, partnering with organizations like Carter BloodCare, the North Texas Food Bank, and Collin County Humane Society. Sunnyland also accepts donations at their snack bar for Dallas Furniture Bank and Metrocrest Services for guests who enjoy the complimentary refreshments while they browse Sunnyland's 37,000 sq ft outdoor living showroom.
In 2015, Sunnyland events for the Richardson and North Dallas Coalition, ClassicalRush, Highway for Health, and the Dallas Kosher BBQ Championship.
Governor's Small Business Forums, sponsored by the Texas Governor's Office, the Texas Workforce Commission, and local partners, are designed to give entrepreneurs and small businesses valuable tools, skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today's fast-paced economy. The DFW region's event, hosted the City of Carrollton Economic Development Office, was held on Thursday, October 22nd at the Coyote Ridge Golf Club in Carrollton.
Other winners in the Dallas Fort Worth region include Utility Systems Solutions, PICKUP LLC, Sheraton McKinney Hotel, & Metrocrest Services.
The Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism, in conjunction with the Texas Workforce Commission, hosts Governor's Small Business forums throughout the year.
