Jun 10, 2010, 09:30 ET from Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc.

SARASOTA, Fla., June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sunovia Energy Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV) has been awarded the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce's 2010 Small Business Award for Technology and Innovation. This is the second year Sunovia has taken home a top honor at the Chamber's Small Business Awards, though last year's award was given in the Green Business category. The Technology and Innovation Award is presented annually to the Sarasota-based business that demonstrates a new or creative approach to problems or issues and/or increases effectiveness or efficiency in unprecedented ways. Sunovia submitted their high-efficiency, environmentally responsible EvoLucia® LED lighting products for consideration, and company representatives accepted the award on Tuesday, June 8th at a luncheon with over 500 attendees at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota.

Sunovia's Chairman and CEO, Carl Smith, said, "We are honored to once again be recognized by our community for the outstanding work we are doing in energy conservation and the advances we are making in LED lighting technology. Any support we receive from Sarasota and the state of Florida will be instrumental in our success as we continue to develop and manufacture the highest-performing LED lighting products in the industry."

"The outstanding attendance for our 20th anniversary awards luncheon is proof that our local economy is seeing signs of recovery," said Chamber president, Steve Queior. "Our small businesses are leading the way out of the recession, and it is only appropriate that we celebrate the exceptional, driving force that they are."

The annual Small Business Awards is a program of The Chamber's Small Business Council (SBC), which, according to the Chamber, exists to promote consumer trust in the business community, to assist our small business members in their growth, development and success, to recognize achievements and contributions of areas members, to encourage businesses to adhere to the highest ethical standards and to facilitate resolution of consumer disputes.
