SunTrust Announces Central Florida Leadership Changes

ATLANTA, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) today announced that David E. Fuller has been named President and CEO of SunTrust Bank, Central Florida, effective September 16, 2010.  Ray L. Sandhagen will remain Chairman of SunTrust Bank, Central Florida.

Mr. Fuller is currently SunTrust's Commercial Banking Strategy Executive and head of Treasury & Payment Solutions.  In that role he oversees the bank's efforts related to commercial banking strategy as well as leading treasury management services, commercial card services, merchant services, and global trade services.  Prior to joining SunTrust in 2004 as Senior Vice President for Treasury Management Services, Mr. Fuller was Senior Vice President in the treasury management and technology sales area at UMB Bank in Kansas City, Missouri.  A 27-year banking industry veteran, Mr. Fuller has held increasingly responsible positions in commercial relationship management, private banking, treasury management sales and product management during his career.  Fuller earned his MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from Baylor University.  

Mr. Sandhagen has served as Chairman, President and CEO of SunTrust Bank, Central Florida since 2005.  A 39-year banking veteran, he began his career with Trust Company Bank in Atlanta (now SunTrust Bank, Atlanta) in 1971, and subsequently held increasingly responsible managerial positions in several banking companies.  In 1993, he joined SunTrust Bank, Southwest Florida in Sarasota as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.  Active in the community, Mr. Sandhagen is on the Governor's Council, executive committee and board of directors for the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, board of directors and finance committee of Orlando Health, board of directors of Orlando Health Foundation, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Florida Southern College.  

Mr. Fuller will relocate to Orlando and, like Mr. Sandhagen, will report to Mr. Kuntz.
