Super Senior Ida Trammel Prevails To Become The Oldest Player To Win Club Championship At Olivas Links Women's Golf Club
VENTURA, Calif., Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- At the age of 91, Ida Trammel proved to be fearless and resilient to win the 2016 President's Cup at the Olivas Links Women's Golf Club. The final match was held on October 6, 2016 at the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
Ms. Trammel went into the final round against Portia Carter of Ventura County. By the time the two golfers reached the Par 3, #13 hole, Ms. Trammel opened up a six-hole lead with only five holes remaining and won the top honors.
The four-round tournament kicked off on September 15. With an index of 33, Ms. Trammel scored consistently throughout the tournament, posting scores of 109, 106, 108 and 110.
Believed to the oldest player to win the President's Club Championship at the Olivas Links Women's Club, Ms. Trammel picked up golf at the age of 75. A resident of Ventura, she remains very active and plays golf at least once a week.
