SuperScholar.org Releases Smart Choice Rankings of Most Affordable Colleges and Universities for Online Degrees

SAN ANTONIO, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SuperScholar.org has extended its popular series of "Smart Choice" online education rankings to include three new rankings looking at the most affordable online colleges and universities for online associates, bachelors, and masters degree programs. The rankings take a big picture approach to calculating affordability, considering each online school's accreditation and marketability in addition to tuition costs.

"Getting a good education at an affordable price is more important than ever, but an affordable degree is not necessarily a cheap degree," said Jeremy Alder, Managing Editor for SuperScholar.org. "The school with the cheapest tuition is not always the most affordable option in the long run, since a degree may not be worth anything at all if it's not from an accredited school that employers recognize and trust."

Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS took the top spot for most affordable online bachelor's and master's degree programs, with Baker College Online ranked as the most affordable school for an online associate's degree. The rankings include large public universities like Colorado State University-Global Campus and Oregon State University Ecampus, as well as private non-profit and for-profit schools, including American InterContinental University, Capella University, Colorado Technical University, Columbia College, DeVry University, Everest University, Herzing University, Ivy Bridge College, Kaplan University, Liberty University Online, Rasmussen College, Saint Leo University, Southern New Hampshire University, Sullivan University, Walden University, and Western Governors University.
