SupplyCore Partners With Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center to Bring More Reliable Support to U.S. Warfighters
ROCKFORD, Ill., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 1, 2010, SupplyCore, a leading small business specializing in global supply chain management, distribution of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materiel and related logistical solutions for the Government, signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) for a public-private partnership with the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC). RIA-JMTC has a manufacturing mission for assigned systems and components and has unique defense production capabilities and facilities. This MOI, signed by former RIA-JMTC Commander Colonel Craig S. Cotter, establishes the ability for SupplyCore and RIA-JMTC to combine the defense production and service capabilities of the public and private sector in their efforts to assist the Government in maximizing utilization of the facility, reducing or eliminating the cost of ownership of the facilities and preserving skills or equipment related to the core competency of the facility.
Under this MOI, RIA-JMTC's manufacturing center and skilled workforce will provide SupplyCore with best value components to the ultimate customer. SupplyCore will be able to pass on this cost savings to customers worldwide through current and potential Government procurement channels. This partnership will provide more responsive, timely, and reliable support to the warfighter, provide SupplyCore a reliable, competitive source of industrial and logistics services, and to enhance RIA-JMTC's skilled workforce and industrial manufacturing capabilities. This effort should also enhance the joint industrial enterprise, consisting of organic and private sector, in delivering the best value support and operating efficiency. Finally, the effort is intended to determine scopes of work that can be beneficially executed and delivered for the mutual benefit of the public and private sectors.
