Sutton Family Auto Awarded Honda Open Point in Minneapolis Suburb

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sutton Auto Team proudly confirmed that they will open their first Minneapolis based dealership. After successfully working with the Ford, Lincoln and Honda brands in suburban Chicago and in Kenosha, Wisconsin the fast-growing dealer group will now sell and service Hondas in the Minneapolis suburb of Coon Rapids.

Nate Sutton, Dealer Principal, will establish a Honda open point on the rapidly developing north side of town near Gateway Commerce Center at Highway 10 and Hanson Boulevard.

Sutton won the open point over dozens of candidates from a large field of dealer applicants from the Minneapolis metro area and Midwest.

Current plans call for more than 100 employees and an all-new $10 million facility—just west of the McDonald's restaurant on Hanson Boulevard. The facility will open in early 2019 and will include a 61,000 square foot building with more than 800 vehicle parking spaces.

The new dealership will be called Rapids Honda.

A new automotive row is developing as Walser Auto Group is in the process of relocating a competing dealership just west of Sutton's all-new Honda Dealership.

One of Honda's top dealers, Sutton graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Engineering. He also attended Ford Motor Company's Dealer Academy. A 25-year veteran of the automotive industry he started his business on Chicago's south side. His unique combination of engineering skills and entrepreneurial spirit have served him well as he continues to grow his family business.

Sutton's charitable endeavors include heavy involvement in the community as a board member for the Ingalls Hospital Board, the Village of Matteson Economic Development Commission, and the Board of Governors for Opportunity International among many others. Among other interests, Sutton presently owns Dealerships in Chicago (Sutton Lincoln-Ford), Kenosha (Honda of Kenosha) and now Minneapolis (Rapids Honda).
