Sweet Opportunity for National Pie Day

2009 National Pie Champion to Celebrate, January 23, 2010

LANSING, Mich., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- 2009 American Pie Council (APC)/Crisco National Pie Champion, Linda Hundt, would like to share her story with your audience the week of National Pie Day, January 23, 2010. Winner of three APC first place ribbons ('07, '08, '09), Linda took 2009's Best of Show for her Tom's Cheery Cherry Cherry Berry pie on the Food Network Amazing Pie Challenge in April, 2009.

Every pie baked in Linda's shop, Sweetie-Licious Bakery Cafe, located in DeWitt, Mich., is baked with lots of love. Linda believes it's her mission to share love and tradition with the world through her food (and pies). With a reality television series of her own in the works, a cookbook, a potential line of aprons, and more love (and pies) than she knows what to do with, Linda truly is the next sweet thing.

But it wasn't always so glamorous. To know Linda Hundt today, it's hard to imagine her as a woman struggling to get out of bed, taking three anti-depressants a day, only dreaming of sharing what she knew were award-winning pies with the world. After what Linda could only describe as a divine message from above, she knew she had to make a change.  Founded in 2002, Sweetie-Licious bakery café was Linda's saving grace and became an overnight hometown sensation.

Seven years later Linda went on to become the Food Network Pie Challenge winner and the 2009 APC/Crisco Pie Champion. Like all of her pies, Linda's Best of Show winner is named after a beloved influence: her brother-in-law, Tom.

After Tom's untimely death just prior to the 2009 APC/Crisco Pie competition, Linda knew she had to enter his pie. Linda had never baked Tom's pie for the public before, but believed he was with her every step of the way. Today, Tom's story lives on in Linda's pie.

Featuring Linda will enable her to share her heart-warming message of believing in your dreams, loving life and eating pie with the nation.
