Switch2Health, NFL Team Up to Get Kids Moving

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J., Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Switch2Health (S2H) is teaming with the National Football League (NFL) to encourage kids to sign up for the Green Bay Packers PLAY 60 Challenge, an exciting competition that will incentivize participants to PLAY 60 minutes per day.

More than 500 local school children picked up their S2H REPLAY activity trackers at the NFL PLAY 60 Youth Football Festival this week in Green Bay. Teachers signed up their classes and students agreed to take the PLAY 60 Challenge in an effort to earn great rewards for themselves and their classrooms.

The REPLAY wristband tracks the wearer's physical activity. After 60 minutes of movement, the REPLAY reveals a unique reward code that can be uploaded to the NFL PLAY 60 Zone. Every time a player enters a code, they accumulate minutes toward rewards.

"NFL PLAY 60 is all about getting kids active for 60 minutes per day. With the S2H REPLAY and NFL PLAY 60 Zone, we are joining with the NFL to help kids engage in physical activity beyond a single event. Participants who log the most activity hours will have the opportunity to win prizes such as two tickets to a Green Bay Packers game this season and even a classroom visit by a Green Bay Packers player. Every student that logs 2,000 minutes of activity will be automatically sent an NFL PLAY 60 T-shirt.

The NFL PLAY 60 challenge will run from Kickoff Weekend (Sept. 9, 2011) to the Pro Bowl (Jan. 29, 2012). Throughout the five-month challenge, PLAY 60 participants can check the leader boards on the NFL PLAY 60 Zone to see where they stand individually and as a class.
